Brussels antiques dealers

Yesterday evening we were invited to the special open house evening at the most exclusive Brussels Antiques Dealers. They are all located at the famous Sablon Place in the centre of Brussels.
So I want to share with you a few pictures that I have taken to have an impression of the event and meanwhile you will see some beautiful pieces that I have discovered (but not bought!!).

Click on the name of all the antiques dealers to discover their websites.

We started our visit at Costermans Antiques.

The owner Dirk Maeyaert is specialized in French Antiques from the Directoire-Consulat and Empire Periods.
He is a very kind person and he is really passionated about his wonderful pieces of antique.

One of my favourites of all discoveries was this beautiful English reading chair.
Tom Desmet Antiques
And this!! I wander if you can guess what this curious object might be?! This was absolutely my favourite! I fell in love with it! I had never seen this beautiful object before!
And yes I asked what the price was! But ...too pricy for me!

So it is an 18th century little marble trunk used to conserve spices!
At that time all spices were very expensive.

And here we have another 3 pieces of these marble trunks.
Aren't they gorgeous?

Next to Tom Desmet Antiques, is located Michel Lambrecht Antiques. I know Michel for a long time and every time I go to visit him, I am always surprised of all the beautiful decorative items he has! As wall sconces, table chandeliers, pottery,...
If you ever go to Brussels I would recommand to visit this house.

The last dealer we visited yesterday evening was Galerie Lamy.
They have no webaddress.
Here you can find a lot of "objets d'art". We discovered a painting of a disciple of Rubens (our famous Antwerp painter)!
